Arlington Plat, Replat, and Survey Guide

How Arlington platting works under the shot-clock process, with survey and pre-application notes for preliminary plats, final plats, and replats.

Arlington's platting process is strongly tied to electronic submittals, completeness review, the Planning Commission shot-clock calendar, and a required Plat Pre-Application Meeting. This page helps development teams understand what to prepare before filing.

Electronic Submittal Only

Arlington says hard-copy plat submittals are no longer accepted. Plats and plat-related documents must be submitted through ArlingtonPermits.com and must satisfy current completeness requirements, infrastructure standards, and fees.

  • Use ArlingtonPermits.com for plat filing
  • File during the published submittal period
  • Submit required plat-related documents electronically
  • Expect incomplete submittals to be rejected for processing

PAM Comes First

Arlington requires applicants to schedule and attend a mandatory Plat Pre-Application Meeting before submitting a plat. Checklist changes must be in writing at or after the PAM and are not valid without the case manager's signature.

  • Schedule the Plat Pre-Application Meeting
  • Confirm the plat type and checklist
  • Discuss drainage, public infrastructure, access, and site constraints
  • Document case-manager checklist changes

Shot-Clock and Plat Types

Arlington processes preliminary plats and final plats separately and no longer accepts combination plats. The Planning Commission must approve, approve with conditions, or disapprove preliminary plats, final plats, replats, and associated plans.

  • Preliminary and final plats are separate filings
  • Combination plats are not accepted
  • Approved with conditions is not final approval until corrections are accepted
  • Written responses to disapproval must be filed during the posted response period
